Dianne O. Snyder, DHA
CONSULTANT
Dianne O. Snyder, DHA, has a long and distinguished career in higher education and healthcare. Retiring with the distinction of President Emeritus of Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in Concord, NC, Dianne led the college as its president from 2008-2019 and was responsible for ensuring its educational quality and effectiveness. During her tenure, Dianne is credited with increasing enrollment, expanding allied health and baccalaureate degree programs, adding graduate-level degrees, offering online degrees, growing the college’s scholarship programs and completing several renovation projects. Prior to serving as President, Dianne was Vice Chancellor of the college from 2003-2008, overseeing clinical research, grant development, community outreach and continuing medical education.
A visionary leader, Dianne kept Cabarrus College at the forefront of educational excellence through active participation and leadership roles in educational organizations including the American Association of Private Independent Colleges and Universities, American Health Sciences Educational Consortium (Treasurer), North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and Charlotte Area Educational Consortium (President).
Dianne’s participation and leadership roles in a variety of community organizations brought state-wide recognition to Cabarrus College as well. Her community involvement included the Cabarrus Arts Council (Board Member), Cabarrus Community Health Center (Board of Directors), Community Free Clinic (Board President), Rotary Club of Cabarrus County (President), Habitat for Humanity Cabarrus County, Healthy Cabarrus (Board President), United Way of Central Carolina, West Cabarrus YMCA (Board of Directors), Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation (Board Chair) and the Atrium Health Cabarrus Advisory Board.
Dianne worked closely with CorsEd President and Founder, Chris Corsello, for seven years at Cabarrus College, and along with CorsEd Consultant (and former Cabarrus College Provost Meg Patchett) successfully guided the college through accreditation without findings or recommendations every year. Having also served as a frequent site visitor for SACSCOC for on-site substantive change and reaffirmation visits, Dianne is intimately familiar with what accrediting bodies are looking for and how to support an institution through the accreditation process.
Before joining Cabarrus College, Dianne held multiple leadership positions at Carolinas Medical Center - NorthEast (now Atrium Health Cabarrus) including Vice President for Nursing, Vice President for Operations, and Executive Director of Health, Wellness and Community Outreach. She has also worked as a healthcare consultant with SunHealth and a nursing administrator for the former Winona Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
Dianne holds a Doctorate of Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, a Master of Science in nursing from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia.
Dianne grew up in Indiana, the daughter of an educator and a nurse. When she’s not consulting with CorsEd, she enjoys traveling with her husband of 29 years, Richard, and continuing to serve her community through a variety of organizations.
